I started using a digital camera in 1998, it was amazing, it meant you didn't have to send the film off to be
processed and wait to see what your pictures were like. It was an Olympus C-420.
This is a photo straight from the camera, this is the best quality that you could get so I was soon looking to
change cameras, to get better quality.
The next camera I got was an Olympus C2500, which was a 2.5 megapixel camera which was quite a good
camera in its day.It had through the lens view finder and a resolution of 1712x1368 and had compact flash card
for storage and smartmedia card as well. The first compact flash card I got was a £121 for a 1GB card, how
memory prices have come down, 4GB can now be found for about £12.
This photo is resized and quality lowered so as not to slow loading the page too much to see a full quality
picture click on the picture. I was very happy with the quality of the pictures from this camera until I decided to
change cameras in 2004.
The next camera I got was a Nikon D70, a DSLR camera much like the old film cameras that I had had with
interchangable lenses. I had a 18-70mm Nikon lense and a 70-300mm telephoto lense which had most
options that I wanted covered. I got a 55mm macro lense after a while to help with closeup photography. The
D70 has a resolution of 3036x2010 which gave good results.
